Finally Made It!

WOW! I'm actually here! As I type this post, I am listening to an outdoor performance of Madame Butterfly....beautiful. It's about 10pm, and still pretty light outside.

I had such grand plans for today: I was going to arrive, check in to my youth hostel (Holland House, a 17th century estate), and jump right over to the British Museum. Unfortunately, my bed had other plans for me, and I ended up taking a 4 hour nap. Definitely needed, but kinda blew my first day here....oh well. I'll go tomorrow...

Everyone here is very friendly. There are a lot of police about, but there doesn't seem to be any anxiety over the attacks. Of course, I haven't made it into the City yet, so things may be different there.

Tomorrow I check into my dorm at Abingdon House. Yes, I already got my homework done so I'm ahead of the game. Which leaves more time for museum tours and knitting (of course). Need to go to a yarn shop already, as I lost one of my double pointed needles on the way from Chicago into Heathrow.....

Love to all!

Cheers, Stacey

Hi Sweetie, Dr Margaret Cheadle is going to Oxford next week for a week conference - something about a Big Catholic Church. She said the seminar is very interesting and thought you might be interested. I told her you were staying at Abington Hall (well close) and you look like me HA. Who knows, she may contact you but I doubt it. She was impressed that you were at Oxford. It's time for you to Blogg us!! We are all anxious to here. Maybe you just have to get up before the others to use one of their 3 computers. Please find the time. It was great hearing your voice. I love you. B MY IIII's Love Momma

Hello to all of Stacey's friends. My name is Gary and I am Stacey's dad. She called me this morning and asked me to apologize to everyone for not keeping up to date on her Blogs. She said that the grad students are using all the available computers but she will catch up next week. She is having a great time, visited Stonehenge yesterday and is going to Nottingham, and hopefully Sherwood Forest, tomorrow. She sends her love to everyone.
